I recently took some time off from the Colonial Secretary task , to build a very contemporary platform bed. It was a nice diversion!
This bed even though it is of a simple design has to be done well – To Look Right.
The Rift Sawn Red Oak lends it self to the clean lines of the bed. The sturdy 4x4 legs offer support, the 2x4 side rails add to the look and overall function of a very sturdy platform on which the mattress rests. Under the mattress are pine 1x4 supports .No box spring needed
The head board is a simple design that hangs on the wall with a hidden French cleat.
The first photo I took mainly to show the headboard. The second more attractive shot showcases the bed as it awaits the arrival of the grandchildren.
